Search by typing in keywords or phrases. The search will list the most relevant content by default, however, results can be sorted chronologically by selecting the option from the pull down menu labeled "Sort results by:".
Simple Search Tips
- To find documents containing any of your search terms, type in the word(s) and select Any Term from the pull down menu.
Example: Typing in Arafat Camp David, and selecting the option "Any Term" from the pull down menu labeled Match will find all documents containing the word Arafat, all documents containing the word Camp, and all documents containing the word David.
- To find documents containing All of your search terms, type in the word(s) and select All Terms from the pull down menu.
Example: Typing in Arafat Camp David, and selecting the option "All Terms" from the pull down menu labeled Match will find all documents containing the words Arafat, Camp, and David anywhere in the same document.
- To find an exact phrase, insert the words inside quote marks.
Example:Typing in "Camp David 2000" will find all documents containing the phrase Camp David 2000.
- Expand your search using wildcards (*):
Type * at the end of a keyword to search for the word with multiple endings.
Example: Try opp*, to find opportunity, opportunities, oppose, opposed, oppress etc.
- Searching for web addresses:
If your search term is a URL, type the URL in double quotes
Example: Typing in"http://www.ahram.org" will find all pages containing the URL inside the document.
