The Salafi-jihadi movement Shabab Al-Mujahideen, which controls large parts of Somalia and has imposed Islamic law in the regions under its rule, is recently facing a wave of opposition in the country. Several groups have launched an armed struggle against it in Mogadishu and elsewhere,[1] while politicians and journalists have been criticizing it harshly.
